2007 Mustang Feature Car Reunion

Dates: June 1-3, 2007
Location: Carlisle All-Ford Nationals, Carlisle, PA

The first ever (as far as I know) gathering of Mustang LX 5.0 Convertibles is being planned for the 2007 Carlisle All-Ford Nationals from June 1-3, 2007 in Carlisle, PA. Following, is information that should answer some questions you might have. It is still very early in the planning process so everything is not yet known.

Also see the reunion section of "The Den" for updates and my thoughts on the reunion.

DID YOU ENJOY THE TENT AT CARLISLE?

If you joined us at Carlisle and enjoyed the tent and the shade it provided please consider helping to defray the cost. Since we did not hit 25 cars registered with triplewhitefox.com they did not refund the $150 that I put up to secure the tent. As of June 5, I have already collected $60 from generous contributors. I heard that others were asking on Saturday whether there was a collection going on. I wasn't around until later in the afternoon so I think I missed an opportunity. Please consider an electronic donation via PayPal to help out. I leave the amount up to you.

Update - 06/08/2007 - Total donations are now $100

92 Feature Cars at 2006 Carlisle

What cars are included?
All 1992 and 1993 Feature Mustang LX 5.0 Convertibles. Red, white and yellow as well as 1990 7-up Mustang LX 5.0 Convertibles. You do not need to be registered on this site in order to participate. Of course, I always encourage registration of 1992 and 1993 feature cars if you have not yet done so. Registrations help me greatly and have assisted in the planning for this event.

Why Carlisle?
Although, I have never personally been to Carlisle, I have heard good things about it both from friends and from what I have read in the online community of car enthusiasts. I also learned that Carlisle is "club friendly". If we register 25 or more cars they will provide a tent to serve as our gathering point. I have done some geographical analysis of the registrations to this site and I think that Carlisle, PA provide a location that is within a reasonable distance for around half of the registrants. So, Carlisle is the place!

Registration
Registration is open for Carlisle All-Ford Nationals 2007! Go to www.carsatcarlisle.com to register. When you register, you will need to communicate to them that you are part of triplewhitefox.com. This will help them to group us together. Please let me know once you have registered so I can keep track of how many people are going.

When I registered I specified the following information:

ModelYear: 1993
Make: Ford
Model: Mustang LX 5.0 Convertible Feature Car
Club: triplewhitefox.com Feature Mustangs

Please use the same information (except Year when appropriate). Copy and Paste, if it is easier. Here's what the registration screen looks like:

Club Tent
If we get at least 25 cars registered, we are eligible for a free tent. We need to have them registered by May 4, 2007. This is an ambitious goal. In order for us to meet it, please follow the above guidelines:

  1. Specify "triplewhitefox.com Feature Mustangs" as your club when registering.
  2. Let me know once you have registered so I can assess where we are in meeting the goal.

Even if we do not get 25 cars it still will be a great time! If we don't qualify for a free tent we can still get one for a $150 fee. I will consider and communicate the option of splitting the fee among the attendees if the majority thinks it would be worthwhile.

Update (04/26/2007) - even though we don't have the required 25 cars I went ahead and reserved a tent. The tent reservation form revealed one thing of interest: attendance at the tent is "non-competitive". I take this as meaning that cars parked by the tent will not be part of the judged competition. To be part of the competion, cars must be parked on the show field which I assume is according to car class in order to allow this to happen. See here for more details.

Lodging
After some searching, I have decided on a hotel to stay at. It's the Holiday Inn in Mechanicsburg which is about 15 miles away. To me, it seems to be the best combination of proximity, availability, a decent place to stay and pricing. It's also an official lodging sponsor of Carlisle events. I plan to arrive there on Thursday. I don't know how many people to expect so I am not able to work with them for some type of group arrangement as I had originally hoped.

Everyone is welcome to join me there!
